GAOニシカワ（西川雅生）
旅するイラストレーター、街道浮世絵師

東京都生まれ。武蔵野美術大学卒業。1987年〜2000年まで、ブリヂストンスポーツ、ソニー・クリエイティブプロダクツでデザイン・商品企画業務に従事。
2001年春 渡米。ハーレーダビッドソンでロサンゼルス〜ニューヨーク間を横断（そのままLAに戻ったため正しくは往復）。
2003年秋、ハーレーダビッドソンでシカゴからロサンゼルスまで、ルート66全行程（約4,000km）を走破。
以後、東京を拠点にアーティストとして活動する傍ら渡米を重ね、ルート66などアメリカの原風景と、そこに佇むバイクやクルマをテーマにイラスト作品を制作。
また、東京・浅草や富士山など日本各地の名所を切り取り、バイクやクルマとともにイラストにしている。
雑誌媒体や広告、企業、イベントポスターなどさまざまなジャンルのイラストを制作・提供。近年の主なクライアントは、ハーレーダビッドソン ジャパン、BMWモートラッド ジャパン、日産自動車、トーヨータイヤなど。
バイク、クルマを愛する人のための情報フリーペーパー「ON THE ROAD MAGAZINE」を創刊。2003年〜現在まで表紙イラストを手がけ、発行人・編集長を務めている。

GAO NISHIKAWA ／ ガオ・ニシカワ

Born in Tokyo in 1963. Grad “Musashino Art Univ.” Tokyo. 1987 to 2000, responsible for product planning and art direction at Bridgestone Sports Co.,Ltd. and Sony Creative Products inc. 2001, Departed from Los Angeles with Harley-Davidson and ride across the United States to New York City. 2003, Departed from Chicago with Harley-Davidson and road trip along Route 66 to Los Angeles. While based in Tokyo, he visit the United States many times and continues road trips, creating artworks themed around Cars, Motorcycles and ROUTE66. And also painting historical landscapes of Japan, including famous landmarks such as Asakusa and Mt.Fuji.
